First Challenge For April At Heart 2 Heart

This week we are doing a Sketch challenge at Heart 2 Heart. Here is the sketch, we had the option to do the circle or rectangle variation.

I hoped for the rectangle variations. Here is the list of material I've used.

I stamped my vases on Kraft cardstock in Sweet Leaf

I used a rubber brayer on white cardstock with Heavenly Blue and stamped my flowers in Crystal Blue.

I stamped the base of the blue piece with the mesh stamp from the Universal Background stamp set.

I adhere a gem in the center of the flower and along the circle and then I stamped the greeting in Desert Sand

And the final result .... Drum Roll..... 

I also place a vase on the inside

Times 3 Challenge

When I saw this challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I could visualise it the window stamp and the brick stamp to give it the appearance of a house. It was going to be great!! So I whent through my stamps to pull out the ones I would need and beleive it or not... I don't actually own the brick stamp... I have so many in a wish list and so many in my stamp collection that I can't keep track anymore. Well... I improvised.

Here is my card:

I used Bamboo, Kraft and White cardstock and Sweetheart patterned paper. The stamp set is Flower Pot D1409 and the ink is Chocolate, Bamboo, and Topiary.

I started by creating the scalloped strips with Kraft cardstock using the corner rounder. Inked the edges in Chocolate and assembled. I then stamped the image of the window in the middle of my card and cut out the window part. I stamped the flowers on the inside of the card through the stamped window.

Since I didn't have that brick stamp. I used the pen tip end of my blending pen and the Bamboo ink pad and free handed bricks here and there on my card.

I stamped and cut out the shutters and the flowers and added small Licorice Adhesive Gems.

New Baby Challenge

This Heart 2 Heart challenge came just in the nick of time for me since I had to make a baby card anyways. One of my coworker's baby boy was born on March 22nd 2011.

I selected the stamp I first wanted to use. "LOVE YOU FOREVER" C1398 is the perfect baby card stamp set. It is so sweet and I really love the stitching. It is also perfect for paper piecing. I stamped all my images on the different cardstock and pattern papers I selected. I used the Level 2 set Stardust and added the Kraft cardstock.

I cut each piece out and inked the edges with Chocolate ink.





I coloured in my birds and flower with a blending pen and Topiary, Moonstruck, and Orange ink. I glued all the piece to my base.

I stamped the greeting with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

I'm So Jealous

Jealousy! I am envying my sister lately! I visited her last weekend to convert her basement into her scrapbooking studio... I want one... but I don't have a basement.

Anyways; we also worked on completing the invitations for my mother's wedding this summer.

From My Heart To Yours: The Challenge

Well this week on the Heart To Heart blog the challenge is all about Home Decor. My family are big into motocross, so I made these clipboard for my boys years ago now to showcase their latest artwork. I'm not sure if it's with CTMH, the name is cut out in the CTMH adhesive backed vellum that is now discontinued. Boo!! Now before you get all excited about my mad drawing skills, I found this drawn image on google and printed it on a sheet of acetate. So here are some pictures.

Scrapbooking Weekend... How I Wished You Were A Scrapbooking Week

Twice a year I host a scrapbooking weekend as a fundraiser for the Zella Community Association.

These weekends are always a lot of work. The packing, the food prepping, the setting up. But what a GREAT time. By the end of the second day, I always wish we where having and Scrapbooking week... I could handle 7 days of been with great women, enjoying a great hobby with great food. Alas all good things must come to an end.

This time we where 13 women. I shared my table with my two best friend and my sister.

I love these amazingly creative women. I didn't accomplish quite as much as I would have like but it's tricky to do so when you are also the host. But what I did accomplished I am pleased with. Here is my artwork.

Colour Combo H2H Challenge

At Heart 2 Heart as a colour challenge this week. The selected colours are Gypsy, Creme Brulee, and Black. Once again, although my cardstock collection is growing every month, I did not have Creme Brulee cardstock. So I made my own. PS I like to cut my foams into 6 and then I staple a 1 1/4" circle marked with the colour ink the sponge will be for. That way my colours never become a blended mess on the sponge, and I don't have to worry about cleaning them.

 I created two cards for this challenge, mostly since I was hosting a fundraiser scrapbooking weekend for the Zella Community Hall, I had a lot of scrapping time. What a blast!!! View my next post if you want to see the other projects I created there.
