Heart 2 Heart Colour Challenge (Sky, Pear, Colonial White)

I wanted to participate to the Heart 2 Heart Colour Challenge but I didn't have cardstock in the colours that was selected... well except for the colonial white... I'm addicted to that one.

Since I have the colours in the ink pads (Sky Z2194, Pear Z2197) I made my own cardstock with the rubber brayer. So here is my card.

First I added the sky and pear colour to some white cardstock using the rubber brayer. I then stamped a background with the Intrinsic Background (D1335). I then stamped the bird outline with the April 2011 Stamp Of The Month (D1455 - Ya I know... sorry about the tease of using a stamp set that is not yet available... what can I say... it's the perk of been a consultant) in Cocoa ink (Z2114). I then stamped the silhouette of the bird in Sky ink second generation Rock-N-Rolled into sky ink. (see at the very end of my post for a more detailed explanation of the techniques used).

I then stamped the border with the Wing Workshop stamp set and the greeting with the Unity stamp set (C1422) in Cocoa ink.

I attached a piece of Pear cardstock with a scalloped edge to my focus piece which I raised with foam tape. And of course, if you know me you know I never skip this part, I inked the edges of all my pieces of cardstock in Cocoa Ink.

Second Generation: Ink a stamp in the desired colour and stamp once on a piece of scrap paper and again without re-inking unto your project. This with give you an image in a softer hue.

Rock-N-Roll: Ink the stamp set in either a lighter of two colours then roll the edges of your stamp in the darker colour ink pad or same colour if combining with the second generation technique.
